Moments in my kitchen

A pink haze pushed away the night sky only to be covered up by grey clouds.

I sit at my kitchen table, every few minutes I look up out my window anticipating rain. Power lines, the tops of a few trees and the lovely grey sky create my view. I'm hoping for a long day of rain. I like the soft grey daylight. The world always feels gentler when it's like this.

In my little apartment the kitchen is my favorite room. I'm not fond of cooking or other kitchen related activities. But this is a good room. From dawn to dusk it's filled with light. If I stand at the window I can see down the little back alley of where I lived as a small child. It's like looking out at a memory.

Filming Dreamcatcher

The last week of July I filmed and edited "Dreamcatcher" a dramatic fantasy of Aboriginal mythology.   I had an excellent crew to work with and am very happy with the final product.

We worked on two of the hottest days of summer. I was  a nice shade of red at the end of shooting but never noticed until we were done.

Here are a few pictures of the two day shoot.

My lovely actress walking to the location of the next scene.

All day in the hot sun I'd see butterflies just a few feet a way from me.  A few members of the crew and myself tried to catch one  to let go and film it flying a way. But we were not successful in our attempts. I think the butterflies were camera shy but wanted to watch us make our movie.

She is just a ridiculously lovely girl.
